I just LOOOOOve Japan. I have raced here maybe 15 times. All ITU World Cups in the 90s and early 2000s.* (Cute results from 1996 below) I love the country, the people, the culture and especially the food. It is really refreshing coming here. So much respect, honour and pride. And now, my first XTERRA Japan!
*ITU Ishigaki 1996 results (SEE! I used to be able to swim!)
Come to think of it, ITU Ishigaki 2000 wasnt half bad either…
Taken with GoPro camera…
Japanse style room. Tatami floors and during the day the bed (thin futon) is in the closet. Shower is a Japanese bath house in the hot mineral spring.
David from Specialized Japan picked me up from the airport and organized a bike clinic, a poster signing, a shop appearance, and of course, the reason we are all here is XTERRA Japan! Kampai!!* I mean Ganbatte!!!**
*Cheers!
** Fight! Or “come on!”
Got some cool new goodies: Thule luggage, GoPro camera (MORE later!), Clifbars, Oakley XL(in camo frog jacket), Suunto t6, Specialized Pervail rainbow helmet, Terra shoes and BG gloves.
Did get lost on the Tokyo train…
And even though the Caveman is scared of nothing, the Japanese toilets are slightly intimidating. “I’m man enough for a lot of things, but I’m not sure if I’m man enough for that blue button…” Or the pink one or the yellow one although the orange one looks promising.
Good day! This post couldn’t be written any better! Reading through this post reminds
