Had an amazing sushi dinner with the AVIA Team last night and they spoilt me again:
Conrad Stoltz’ World Championships race kit. Designed by Miltos Manetas and made by LUMA Sports.
My LUMA tri kit is made and printed by my good friend and former XTERRA pro, Gary Mandy. The amazing thing about LUMA is that you can go to LUMAsports.com, design any thing you dream up, and Gary will have it made, printed and delivered to your door in 4 weeks! The quality of the material is amazing- breathable and light- crucial for the heat in Maui and the big climbs on the run and bike. (The clothes does not get too heavy with water/sweat)
Usually I would not go with white bottoms, but Gary assured me these wont show through when wet.- Otherwise it would become my Halloween outfit.
Then it came to the design and I wanted to do something unique. Triathlon Team founder Nikola Tosic put me in contact with famous Greek artist Miltos Manetas, who agreed to design a once off Worlds Race kit.
I like it, (on paper, anyway) and Bobby thinks its “mad.” I think it means “good” in Irish… Gav?
This artwork is in the style of Miltos’ JacksonPollock.org creation. It won the 2009 Webby Peoples Voice Award. Probably one of the most fun websites I have ever visited…
