XTERRA Whistler, Canada
Conrad Stoltz XTERRA Whistler, by Dustin Derkach, Revolve Photography
I have always been spellbound by the crazy “BC” trails (British Columbia, Canada) one sees in the mountain biking videos and magazines. So when XTERRA Whistler came along, I jumped on the opportunity to experience this magical place, its trails and its people.
D day -1 for XTERRA Whistler, Canada
I came to XTERRA Whistler for the single track and boy, I wasnt disappointed!
For sure the hairiest, most scary, most technical XTERRA course I’ve seen. I walked some of the most hectic sections to check them out, then get on the bike, motivate and attack. Felt the rush of adrenaline, realized I forgot to breathe. What a rush. The riding here is in a class of its own. Not what I’m used to for sure.
I was just going to roll with the standard bike set up on my 29er Sworks Epic, but within 10minutes, I had the bar ends off, sliced the rear tire, so I put some Captains on and of course the Command Post is worth its wight in gold.
To make things harder – it just started raining and cant seem to shake this head cold.
The XTERRA crew, the athletes and the scenery is amazing. Fun times:
